$11r Final table - CL w 97bb = out in 7th. How should we approach final tables.

Hi guys.

After some general discussion & advice about how to approach final tables when we have a top 3 60bb+ stack.

I feel like I'm not clear enough on what our strategy should be. Obviously it's going to be different depending on who's on the FT with us i.e. if the FT is a bunch of fish then it's going to be pretty easy to just open loads put loads of pressure on & run the table over in my experience. Also they just seem to make so many ridic mistakes like 8xing buttons or whatever that we can just wait for golden spots & capitalise.

But what should we be thinking when we get to a final table full of competent reggish types, winning players with lot's of experience and abi's of $30 avg over 1000's of games?

Should we be prepared to just kick back, play passively & try to ladder up as much as possible before we need to change gears again say around 4 handed?

Is our aim to avoid all confrontation, avoid marginal spots like opening ATo UTG for instance, even AJo - What would be your widest range for opening UTG?

My image up to this point for those who were with me on the final 2 table stage was pretty LAG. I know each hand, spot & table is going to be different & we can't apply general rules. But what would be your default foundation thinking/approach/strategy when arriving at a FT as CL w 97bb. Is it leaning more towards NIT NIT NIT & watch the villain's bust one after another while we can patiently wait for clear calling or 3b jamming spots or are you going to open more & try to keep applying pressure?

Any thoughts or feedback appreciated.
