$11 Hot PS - easy call?
Hi guys,
The hand was like that:
Blinds 20k/10k antes 2k...I had 27BB
I was changed of the table. In the first hand I received AQo in BB. The villain in UTG with almost 40BB did a mini raise. Everybody folds. My action was a 3-bet and the villain did a 4-bet all in. I was thinking and I finally called.
He shown KK. And the board didn't help me.
My "pow": I did the call because I thought that could be a good spot in that situation if I won I was up to the 4th place. I knew that he can have AA/AK/KK, because I didn't have prior info of the villian. But as I played with that misinformation I can put him also with low pairs.
I finished in the 47th placed in the tourney with a sour sensation because I was in the 13th place in the last hand.
It's a good "spot" to called?
Ty!

i think when he opens utg and 4bet shoves 40bb the best situation for you is to coinflip against JJ. the 4bet shove there shows a lot of strength imo. i would prefer flat calling the preflop raise, hide my hand strenght and evaluate flop.
This! Especially if you dont know him. You can either 3b/f AQ here or just flat. But 3b/c is wrong for sure, i dont even think its a Nash Shove.
I think stack size and position is really important here, if Villain is in the SB or on the button then you can never fold AQ with less than 30BB but the UTG opening range is so much tighter that the 3-bet is less profitable because he has less hands like A-T which you crush and he might call with and he definitely had less hands like 67s so you're going to just get him to fold less often and just pick up the chips in the middle. Also the added benefit to just flatting would be that you're hand is really disguised.
In turbo mtt 40bbs is very deep. The villain's range to 4bet is very strong AA, KK e AKs. 3bet fold OK, easy fold pra 4bet shove.
