Thinking in ranges
Hi,
I'm working my way through Peter's course and am struggling a little with thinking in ranges. Being a "from the ground up" course, I would have expected some explanation about this, rather than assuming the students knows the concept of ranges inside out.
For example at the start of the first video on ranges (EP2. Opening Ranges), Peter jumps straight in by saying "...make sure that we're balanced... aim to be able to defend half of our range.[...] Every range that I am going to recommend today is defensible half of the time. You don't want to open 100% of your hands.." What does that mean - especially for someone new to ranges?
Can anyone recommend a good resource here on RIO or on another website that is geared towards beginners (not new to poker but to studying it) that explains ranges?
Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you!
Gunnar
