Coldcalling in the SB
Hi guys,
I started studying PLO this week by doing this course and training with the Vision GTO Trainer at the same time to maximize my progress. I recognized that Emty says we should't CC in the SB whereas in Vision I could see that we indeed want to have a coldcalling range in the SB.
Is this because Vision aims at higher stakes where the rake structure is different?
Or is the statement "don't CC in the SB" due to population tendencies (in combination with low stakes rake structure)?
Good luck to all of you at the tables!

Okay I found the answer. If anybody is interested: Vision uses a PLO500 Rake-Structure, while the course is made for the small stakes with much more rake.
Hey Berndacle Good research and confirmed ;) We start coldcalling more in the SB when rake is getting less relevant.
Best,
Emty
This is interesting and one of the topics I've been thinking a lot. Recently I started to implement Emty's teachings not to CC from SB but only play hand if it's strong enough to 3bet. Think decisions have become a lot easier on later streets. However, I've seen many videos from decent players from plo25 & 50 where they CC from SB also. Of course everything depends, but is there any hand category suitable for CC at micros?
I also have stopped cold calling from the SB. I only tend to cold call if I face early position raiser. Hands like double suited Ace high broadway rundowns with a 1 gap with a dangler eg AKJ2. Also these hands have to suited to the Ace
My single suited calls AKQT with bad suits and maybe a two gap hand AKJ9 with an Ace high suits.
I started coldcalling QQ and weaker KK even versus a maniac+another maniac 3bet sometimes and it really payed off. When there are maniacs on the loose, the rule book goes out the window and more experience and common sense matters. That's just my humble opinion and experience in a few session, so I'm not sure, but I believe that's how we should handle them.
