BB Defense Chart?
Are there any resources available for BB defense ranges versus 2x/2.5x/3x raise sizings? BBvsX (all positions) would be great, too.

yes agree would be nice :-)
We're looking into it guys. They may not be all that handy when you consider all of the variables involved in those decisions though.
Even rough guidelines would be helpful. What I took from the BB defense video is that if our hand is remotely playable (some connectibility or any high card) we should defend.
Assuming that's correct, we're probably removing some hands from the bottom of our change against a 3x, assuming BU is of equivalent skill, but maybe it's not a huge deal?
Would be a abulousness addition to a great course!
I think Peter got them on his first book, Grinder's Manual.
Imo, the book is a very good companion for the course
I would be very hesitant to provide such a chart. While I could make something that is an okay starting point, I think it would be much more valuable to form an understanding of pot entitlement which is the idea that after considering everything (position, equity, skill levels, realisability of equity, implied odds, stack depth, population tendencies and more) we will or will not get back a large enough share of the pot to make the pre-flop investment profitable.
EG. Let's say we are on the BB with J8s and the BU makes it 2.25BB, the SB folds. We have to invest 1.25BB and the pot will be 5BB after we make the call. To get our 1.25BB back and break even we will need 25% pot entitlement. So the question becomes: is it reasonable to think we have this much pot share or more? I think the intuitive answer is 'yes, certainly.'
For a start, our J8s has 44% equity against a 50% opening range! Are we going to perform so badly due to being out of position that we can't get back 25% of the pot with this much equity, no way!
Understanding what makes a hand higher EV to call than to fold is worth a lot more than a chart in situations like this. Esepcially, where there are so many dynamic factors that affect our EV. Hope this helps.
Ok, definitely getting From The Ground Up later today. This is precisely the kind of stuff I really need to spend time on.
