Zoom Challenge
About a year ago I made a post here where my intention was to grind from the bottom of the zoom ladder to the top, and I was excited to play, post hands, get better etc. Then just as I was about to get going I was offered a new job and had to put poker on hold indefinitely as I am away from home for months at a time with work.
Now however, between coronavirus and having some time off work to take anyway, it looks like I've got nothing to do for a few months, so I thought I'd get back into poker and see how far I can go. The challenge is as follows:
Start with $200 bankroll
4 table zoom (starting with 2NL)
Post winning sample over 10k hands
Take a shot at next stake/move up (as BRM permits)
Rinse and repeat
In addition to this I'll post hands I'm unsure about in the low stakes forum, as well as an update here with a graph after each session.
As for questions I have, I'm not sure what to do bankroll management wise. For example, assuming I beat 2NL, how long should I spend at 5NL building the roll before I take shots at 10NL? I hate feeling like I'm under rolled so I'm probably going to be less aggressive that most would be in that regard.
About to get started with session 1, back later with the results!

1st Session:

Got around 3400 hands in at 2NL zoom, winning at 15.75bb/100. My main takeaway from the session was I need to go watch some videos on c-betting, as I felt I was c-betting too much and not really sure what to do sizing wise at times. Going to play some more tonight then re-watch the c-betting episodes from the 'From The Ground Up' series to finish the day off poker wise.
Solid result so far. Good luck with the challenge.
Those videos helped me a lot as well. Just make sure you stay focused after a longer session!
Cheers IIICitanul, I love the From The Ground Up videos, by far the best thing out there for someone like me who hasn't played much recently
Played 5043 hands in total today, winning at 17.49bb/100. Pretty pleased with the start I've made, even if it is 2NL. Surprised at the red line staying close to zero, I assumed with a lot of weaker/stationey type players it would be trending downwards more than it is. Could also be due to the size of the sample I suppose.
Now I'm off to watch re-watch the FTGU video I mentioned earlier.
The aim for tomorrow is:
Post at least one hand from today's session in the low stakes forum
Play another 5000 hands of 2NL
Watch at least one RIO video, either a live play video, or a theory video on something I'd struggled with during the session
This is going to be a two day blog :D
Going strong man!
