What about inventing new games?
Holdem is too solved at this point, this is why it's dying and soon PLO will suffer the same fate.
One idea i have is "double pot limit omaha" which is like PLO high except you can now bet up to twice the pot.
btw: i have lookied into all current pokergames and they all have issues, NLHE is still my favorite game.
Ideally the game should be
1. no limit
2. not solvable by current computer hardware or even close.
3. easy for normal people to understand.
One game i have constructed satisfies 1 and 2 but not 3 with current rules.

Not sure what you're looking for. Some people play games like double board PLO8 (which has a ridiculous amount of chops) that may be sort of like what youre asking,
Wouldn't that be one of the worst games in terms of the impact of collusion?
Probably too complex for most people to get into. I like games that appears to be simple at first but end up being very complex strategically.
Anyway: i just started working on a poker game where you select 6 cards out of 8, should be simpler than my poker8 game (8 cards out of 11 selected).
Just got an idea
Omaha best of 3:
3 boards and if you win on 2 you get the entire pot, otherwise chop.
swedish_orca rake :((( I would love something in style of 2-7 game(thus draw game) than omaha/nlhe
Jeff_ What about no limit 2-7 TD ?
I like no limit games, betting 5x the pot with nothing is fun.
What about we add a suit to NLHE ? Will that make things better ?
I was thinking about the same thing, in addition you should increase the number of community cards to 6 (otherwise it would be to difficult to get flush).
Flop: 5 cards total
turn: 7 cards total.
river: 8 cards total.
From best to worst
0. 5 of a kind
1. straight flush
2. 4 of a kind.
3. flush
4. full house.
5. straight
6. 3 of a kind.
7. 2pair
8. pair
9. nothing
The game tree would be 243 times bigger.
Cool yeah It does make things more complex.
But it also makes it more boring ? Like it's harder to make a hand and equity's run even more wide ?
I think NLHE is already kind of boring. I think 6+ soles that but that game is more easy solvable right ?
This is solved by adding an 8:th card.
When 5 cards are selected of 8 for a hand, 65 deck card, you will get a straight 8% of the time and flush 3% of the time, flush will become more rare than full house (due to full house becomming more common).
