Treadmill Desk experience
Hey guys,
I already PM sauce on 2p2 about his opinion but figured I should post here as well just in case other people have experience with treadmill desks.
So, I have the Embody but lately got some lower back pain. That pain doesn't really come from sitting on the Embody but rather sitting in general I think. Overall, regardless of how good a chair can be, I guess walking is superior anyway, right? So the question is, how practical is it in the long run, is anyone walking 6 hours a day working with solvers and playing poker or will that be too stressful?
Also, any recommendations for what treadmill to buy?

I think it will be good for studying and doing general tasks on PC, but not for playing poker or doing heavy concentration work. But maybe for long MTT sessions (think SCOOP) may prove useful to give a short walk every couple of hours plus the scheduled breaks.
I also would like recommendations for treadmills and standing desks in euro stores. I got one from ikea but I'm thinking upgrading.
I went through 6+ months of a horrible RSI (repetitive strain injury) from not having proper ergonomics in place during heavy computer usage. I'm sure it built up over the years, too because I've been gaming on consoles and PC going back to 1986 and never, ever once didn't have horrible posture in place lol. I eventually had to buy a $200 gaming chair (a steal price for what I got) and RSI + Ergonomics is now something that I have an interest in moving forward. I still have issues with it but they're vitually like 1% of what they were several months ago. I literally couldn't use the computer or drive a car, period without severe pain.
I focus on poker entirely at this point and this task, along with a nice chair, don't cause the problem. It even seems to have corrected it over time. As far as speed chess, twitch games, etc - I'm done at this point. I tried playing CODBO4 on a 42" screen back in December and not only was it clear to me that I had outgrown regular gaming (that's not for money), but how much worse it made the RSI at that time is enough to make me never risk being able to play poker comfortably at a screen for long periods of time again.
Bauce123 uses /used to use one so therefor it's likely GTO!
Basic logic suggest that sitting is not the greatest thing humans can do hours on end so if you grind long hours it probably beneficial to your health to be able to walk but I think a regular standing desk also go's a long way in regards to that
I've figured quite recently that furniture immensely increases my general working capacity. It goes for almost everything desk, chairs and especially beds. The sleep quality affects almost every aspect of life, at the very basic level it provides more energy which is the most important things to get things done. Just check these adjustable ones http://royaltherapysale.com/
