To many tables. Over reliance on HUD stats. Cutting down and enjoying poker again
Coming from a MTT background. I feel I have played to many tables in the past relying on my HUD. I have recently lowered my numbers of tables to where I am more then comfortable playing, looking at peoples plays finding there tendencies, ranges and Making notes. I'm actually shocked at how much Information and money i have missed out on over a long period of time playing to many tables.
Not just in the amount of info on the tables, but on reflecting on my own game. (marking the hand down. Thinking about it. Plugging the hand into PPT, Hold em calc ect) Can reflect on the hand with more context with what you where thinking of achieving with a certain play with the certain table dynamics. Rather then just seeing a % fold to bet on your HUD and making it regardless.
Im not saying HUDs are not effective I use one and really like it. But I do feel that having a HUD gave my the non existent safety net to play to many tables then I could actually handle. I would add too many tables I think to increase my EGO. Lose track at how hands have played out and feel that my HUD will save me. Get frustrated at guessing spots. I get so much more enjoyment in slowing down the pace of my sessions thinking through my decisions (With the aid of my HUD) Incorporating what I have learned on this site in the correct spot. Marking it and seeing after the session if I was correct to use it.
My question is to you.
1) Do you think people play to many tables then they can manage or they are correct in doing so to maximising there hourly rather then thinking through spots more deliberately trying to improve every session.
2) Over the long term do you feel that Mass tabling to maximise your current edge in the games you play is greater then less tables but slow progression of you edge in the game.
Thanks.
