My name is Douglas. I’m not new to poker, but looking for a fresh start. I used to play various live cash games and mostly mixed games online. I was successful up to 5/10 live, but games were soft. I played HUNL, big O, PLO, NLHE, 12 game, you name it, all to mixed results online. I’ve played a handful of WSOP events and a lot of cash games in Vegas during the summers.

Due to life circumstances a few years ago, I took a long break away from poker and am looking to start fresh for 2024. I live in Tennessee now, and the closest casino is a few hours away, so online is best. I want to dive headfirst back into one specific game and really apply myself. The big changes coming to Elite here in 2024 seem like they’d facilitate my new goals nicely. Here’s my plan:

1. Choose a game to specialize in and get as good as I possibly can, building from the ground up. I’m in the US. I could play HUNL, mixed games, or 5PLO at SwC; PLO or MTTs on ACR; maybe a better option elsewhere? I’m open to suggestions.

2. Year membership for RIO Elite, choose a solid learning path, daily study for 365 days, find a study group/partner to hold me accountable, post actively in the forums/Discord, take full advantage of all aspects of Elite membership

3. Document and track my growth throughout the year

I start working on my goal January 1st and would love to hear any input or ideas you may have to offer. Looking forward to meeting you all!
