Starting a Poker Study group need some advice.
So me and a few of my life long friends are about to start a poker study group. It was my idea so i am going to be "leading" i guess you could say and i wanted to get some tips on how to have a successful study group. Im going to outline my general ideas how they stand now and hopefully with some discussion i can get a good sound plan put together for us.
We are currently going to meet 1-2 times a week to sweat each other playing online for x amount of time then change places. With the idea of discussing interesting spots, trying to find leaks, and learning how to control tilt.
I am planning on having everyone Record hands they have that they feel were tough spots or high pressure situations that we can go over later in a sit down discussion and play the hands out on my tv.
Going to put together a reading list of books for everyone to read depending on what were working on at the time.
Any other activities or tips would be greatly appreciated. Were all micro - low stakes players and our goal is to reach the mid stakes for now and eventually higher stakes as we improve.\
Thanks to all those who put time into helping us out in advance!

You can also plan to all watch one or a few training videos, and then discuss how to aply those concepts. This works well especially if you don't have a lot of time, since you can assign "homework" to your friends.
Reviewing and discussing tough hands your friends played, kind of like the RIO, can help. You could do it in a multiple choice format in the beggining if your friends aren't very advanced, and if you're willing to prepared in advance.
Studying a book together chapter by chapter can also help you guys a lot, since you'll remember everything you undersand, and it's easier to apply when you go play.
Watching the training Videos together is a great idea. I had an idea of finding some of the tougher hands posted on here and taking the OP post without all the feedback and having us discuss it together and see what we think vs what others think and see where we come out at.
I think i want to get a few mental poker books and assign homework to read x amnt of chapters before our next meeting beacuse the biggest weakness i know we all share is Tilt and a getting into a bad mental game and spewing.
Also if there are any Low-mid Stake players that would be interested in sitting in on some skype sessions with us and helping coach us a little bit that would be greatly appreciated!
If anyone is interested in joining our study group via skype feel free to post here or PM me thanks!
