Soylent

This is a fascinating article. Anyone ever heard of this stuff?

Can you imagine all that free time we'd have to grind if we didn't have to do groceries, cook, or go out to eat?!

It's hype. Yes, like other junk food, it will keep you alive, but alive doesn't mean healthy. It lacks phytonutrients. It only has one vitamer of each vitamin. The nutrients it has won't be absorbed the same way. Bottom line is it's not a substitute for a healthy balanced diet. Nutrition is much more than an ingredients list with lots of vitamins (e.g. all the cereals with overly impressive "nutrition facts" are junk). Science is only scratching the surface of nutrition, and Soylent certainly isn't the state of the art regardless.

Wait so I can just eat soylent all day every day the rest of my life? Like I don't need to eat anything else? Hell yeah!

I found this:

You can live on Soylent alone, Mr. Rhinehart claims, though in practice
he said customers would most likely use it to replace just their “staple
meals,” by which he meant most of the junk you eat every day to fill
yourself up

Lets do this!!!

This can be used as a pre breakfast (no good translation to english) but your whole diet can't be something like this. There are a lot of nutrients that are missing that can't be found on this sources. And the 'cons' he wrote about... cmon man
