Richard "raconteur" Gryko like many of his poker brethren came to poker through a love of chess. After losing to his grandfather time after time, he went to the library in hopes of learning strategies to defeat his opponent but instead walked away with a poker book and thus began his passion for the game. Initially he dabbled in limit games online before making the transition to PLO cash games a decade ago and hasn't looked back since.

As a player his strengths are emblematic of his analytical and logical approach to the game. He blends the technical and instinctive aspects of poker where other players tend to be hyper-developed in one of those areas. As a coach, his years of experience have helped him hone his skills in verbalizing his thought process and thoroughly communicating difficult concepts. He has two top 50 finishes in the WSOP Main Event, 1 WSOP bracelet, one SCOOP-H win, multiple COOP final tables in different disciplines and a consistent record of cash game results at high stakes.
