Alex "Alexo18" Manzano was introduced to poker through his older brother.  Initially, he played low stakes NL in underground casinos and didn't have much success.  He decided to dedicate time to studying the game away from the tables, focusing primarily on HUNL and quickly saw the results of his hard work.  He played in a number of MTT's as well and found that his aggressive style translated well to this format.  He won the LAPT Sao Paulo in 2011 for $360,000 and finished runner-up in Player of the Year, Online Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year awards that same year.  In 2012, he transitioned to PLO where he had a similar experience to his first foray into NL but quickly found himself winning at a torrid rate.
