Recognizing a down swing and weathering the storm
So I'm pretty sure I'm on a down swing right now.. Last hand I had J9o, the guy opened UTG with a min raise to 4, everyone else folds, I call from the BB, flop shows KQ10o giving me a straight to the K, I check, he bets 4 I re-raise 8. Turn shows a 7h giving a possible BDF, I bet 15 into the $23.75, he flats me, river comes an 8 and I jam to maximize profit figuring he couldn't have flopped the nuts and at best had two pair or AK. Turns out I was wrong. He had the fking jin. fml.
So that being said I got disgusted and decided that its time I take a break for awhile on that note. Especially because I haven't really been connecting to many hands for the past few days and have lost 3-400. My question to you guys is how long on average do you think down swings last / when is the exact point when you're able to recognize that you're on one? And also, how do you weather the storm?
