Pros responding to older videos...

I just wanted to say that my #1 positive review about this site is the fact that the pros do a pretty good job of responding to comments of their videos. It would be nice if the maker of a video just checked back periodically to their old videos for newer comments. Some members who just joined, but watched an older video don't get the benefit of having their questions answered by that pro. Other members, like me, who are trying to learn a new game and went back a month or two to watch those videos don't seem to get a response either.

I know the pros are busy, but it doesn't seem like each pro has too many videos out where spending a couple minutes even just once a week scrolling through an old video to answer a recent post should take too much time...especially since some of the videos only have one or two comments anyway.

Overall, I am very pleased with the participation of the pros in responding to comments about their videos though.

Pros commenting quickly on questions is super important imo. And the occasional comment in the forums is nice too. More than anything else, it gives an impression of two way communication (and participation) on the site. They also seem to be responding respectfully even to potentially silly questions which is nice.

Imo this is much more important than some technical features of the site that may or may not be missing. I'm here for the learning experience, that's what I'm paying for.

Great points. Perhaps we can implement a notification system where pros receive a message whenever a comment is made on one of their videos. I'll see if this is feasible.

Pro interaction is definitely a point of emphasis for us and was a major factor when we decided to hire the pros we did.

If a notification system isn't feasable, please at least ask pros to take a quick look at comments (maybe once a week) in their older videos for any new comments/questions.

-This would be a big plus to an already good experience.

It looks like a notification system is possible.  We are currently working on this.  I'll have an idea of how long this will take later in the week.

Grayson Ramage seems to be the only one (at least from what I've seen in mtt videos) responding to comments in old videos, and I feel like it shouldn't be a lot of work to look into all older videos once a week for all the pros, even without notification system.

And, well, creating a simple e-mail notification system seems like 3 hours of work for an average programmer, hope you guys sort it out asap!

I hear what your saying.  I do think the notification system is necessary to alert the pros.  Some high volume video producers (Galfond for example has produced 33 videos) can't be expected to go through all 33 each week to look for new comments.  This will apply to all coaches as time goes on and the number of videos that they've produced grows.

I will update on this thread as soon as the notification system is implemented.

I am happy to announce that we now have a system to notify coaches whenever there is a post on one of their old videos.  Hopefully, this will lead to more interaction and get you quick answers to some of the posts that are made on a pros older videos.
