the end of the year seems to be a good time to recap, analyse and plan how to better fail in this game we all love and hate next year :)

First some lines on my pokerhistory: I am a 37 years old german guy, playing now for about 6 years as a pro, mainly NLH Fullring and Livepoker and worked as a pokercoach for the german community of what is now PokerSchool online. There is a youtubechannel called "Pokervideos von Eckesach" where you can see some of my Vids i produced so far (german language only). Now i want to change from NLH to PLO cause i feel that the games where getting too tough (at least for me oldschool grinder) and pokersnowie imho allready started to destroy the possibiliy to make a decent living on it.

Soooo its gonna be PLO as my main game in 2015 and i will use this journal to share my goals, the preparation, my ups and downs, my results and analysis together with some strategical content, interesting links and all the related stuff that belogs in a decent blog. I will update at least every sunday evening and have a look some times in the week to post outstanding bad plays and monsterpots and other interstings hands :)

I was like, hmm, do i really profit from blogging about my plo live or does it give away too much infos about my play put pressure on my i can't handle in downswing times which will come fore sure because its PLO and it will sometimes hurt. Now i am optimistic that it will carry more pros than cons and gives me the motivation to get things going on for the next year.

The Past:

As you can see i was more or less a BE player on this limit with tones of bad plays and leaks like playing a weak tight robot style on too many tables, made no players notes and so on.

The Present:
I have done some work on that in the last 3 weeks, bought plo ebooks and worked with them, joined a study group, bought one year licence of pokerjuce, purchased leakbuster plo and notecaddy edge plo. So a lot of investment but i allready feel that my game is getting better every day and some of the money allready returned at the tables.

The Future:

My goal for 2015 is to establish myself by the end of the year as a solid winner in the plo200 games on stars or another decent plo site. Beginning on plo50 this sounds like an easy to acheavable thing but it know that the games prolly will don't stay as easy, the summer will dry the games, i have to handle swings and so on. If i end up overachieving as a plo400 reg i will not really start to cry btw.

P.S. A short explanation to the title: Ecke is the short form of Eckesach, my name on stars. Preparing for battle is kinda thing i believe in. The more time you study the game, sharpen your mindset, optimizing your setup and do a good postmortem analyze the better you perform. Just playing will not do the trick for me.
