Poker Refugees?

Has anyone here used the pokerrefugess.com? Is it something to really look into? It sounds almost too good to be true.

I've moved using Kristin Wilson three times now (Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico). She does a good job. Everything went smoothly and I consider her a friend. If you want to move abroad to play poker, and don't want to hassle too much with logistics. PokerRefugees is a great choice.

OK - Thanks Tyler I am most certainly jumping the gun but want to get an idea of options cause I really hate the hassle and uncertainty in the U.S.

Huge waste of money. Plenty of information online about what you need to do (and many helpful people) and honestly none of it is all that tough to do on your own. Search 2+2 for the Rosarito thread and the Playa Del Carmen thread for info about Mexico. Everything you need to know is in there.

I am lazy though :) and it sounds very cool, hassle free, all I have to worry about is getting to the plane on time. But I am not thinking of leaving till the end of this year - hopefully the options in the U.S. are more plentiful by then.

I always assumed the real service was having them get your bank account set-up. Something that would be extremley difficult as a non-spanish speaker. Are you saying you can do this on your own?

You can do it all on your own very easily. Not only can you get in touch with poker players that will help you, but you can get in touch with a few recommended realtors on 2+2 that will help you. In the bigger cities/ tourist spots a lot of the banks will have someone that speaks English there. If you search for the 2 threads I listed you literally can find anything and everything you need to know and set yourself up within a day or two.

If you have the money to spend and don't mind paying for convenience then Refugees is good. I do hear they do a wonderful job, but none of it is so hard to do that I'd ever suggest someone spend a decent amount of money on it.
