Please let me leave NL2

Hello everyone,

I have played off and on since just before black friday. I'm not great and may have profited two or three hundred playing SNGs and MTTs. I'm trying my hand at cash and watched Steve Paul's video on starting out which prompted me to start this journal. My plan is post at least on Sundays and maybe some during the week.

Weekly goals:
Buy pokertracker
Watch the first section of From the Ground Up
Read the corresponding sections of The Grinder's Manual
Watch three videos from Essential NLHE. Most likely on playing the small blind.
Report back on Sunday.

Hey, before spending money on tracker you should try them. H2N has 30 days free trial, and I think you can use for free for microlimits without some advanced feature, but you shodnt need them on micro.

My first update.
I did buy pokertracker a few days ago. I am just seeing your comment berti, but I did have some paypal cash so I'm not out much and I am enjoying all the data. That was about it for my goals thought. Between grad school and being a mostly stay at home dad with a one and three year old I blew off studying.

Goals this week: Complete first part of From The Ground Up
Read first three chapters of grinders manual
Watch three videos on playing the big blind
Play 2k hands

Heres my graph for the week. Got it in bad and tilted just before this post as you can see.

Imo id just be depositing enough money/saving up to play 10nl or 25nl because its just not worth being stuck at 2nl for any longer than is necessary. Maybe study the courses you want while saving up some money then play 25nl.

I am of the opposite idea, at NL2 you can have insane winrate. I was winning at like 30 bb/100 at NL2, then at NL5 I had like 12bb/100, then I thought i could bet NL10 but I played like 100k hand a little more then Break-Even. Rake is almost the same from NL2 to NL10, it begin to decrease a little at NL20.

Quite a bad mentality imo. Its not about win rate at these stakes, its about progressing as quickly as possible through the limits and improving your game and staying at 2nl because you are winning 30bb/100 is not progressing your poker career and is just crushing potential future earnings.
