Open Letter to Felipe "lipe piv" Boianovsky
Because he said here he was coming short of ideas for videos, I felt obligated ;) to write him this open letter.
tl;dr
cliffs : you make great videos with unique and valuable and sticky type of content : keep them coming ! :)
Hey Felipe!
I can't believe you're running out of ideas to make videos !Your classic review videos are (very) good, but don't add a lot of value (imo) the already very good and numerous review videos.
However, you produced several videos which really stand out, where you analyze in details ranges, bet sizes, GTO and exploitative considerations to come up with balanced ranges.
These are clearly the most valuable because :
- they are quite rare (with some notable exceptions)
- you make a great job presenting these concepts in a very clear and easy to understand way,
- they have just the right practical math without cluttering them with difficult to understand and use math formulas
- you're able to illustrate very useful concepts in a clear way.
So if you lack good ideas, what would be the nuts would be a video series where you break down ranges both for Villain and Hero to come up with the ideal balanced range for both, showing the different mistakes or alternative lines along the way. Or presenting specific concepts (like you did for "A Deeper Look Into Blockers", etc).
This kind of videos woud really stand out as both different and very useful for our learning process.
Of course, you would be limited to one or two hands analyses per video, but quality is better than quantity :)
FWIW, I keep reviewing and studying these hand analyses over and over as they improved my poker knowledge the most. This type of content tends to stick more and have a bigger impact on understanding the game.
Most classic hand review videos (from any pro) present a bunch of valuable, but scattered and partial knowledge, which makes it more difficult to integrate; this kind of content tends to build a general intuition of what to do.
My 2 cents.
PS : those who agree might just like this post to put some pressure on Felipe ;)
PPS : @RIO, how come Felipe is on an Essential plan ??? A Big Value for the price ! (along as several other pros)
