Online Poker Mentor Needed
Hey guys, so I'm new to this site and new to the poker strategy forum world in general. I'm looking for a mentor who has shown proven success in online poker and is willing to help me out.
I've been playing poker for about 3 years now but at a less than serious and consistent level. I have had a reasonable amount of success in live poker at home games and casinos. I think that I have a pretty good feel for live poker and I keep my head on straight a lot better.
Online poker has been a completely different story for me. I have had serious bouts with tilt for online poker. I have consistently built up my bankroll to find myself in desperation tilt and jumping stakes to recoup losses and ending up busting accounts and feeling dejected and like a failure.
A little bit about me, I am a college and junior tennis coach. I played at a high national level and for a major division one college in tennis. I have trained myself over the years to always play to the end of a match and never ever quit. I think part of my problem with my desperation tilt online is that I don't quit my session for that day and keep trying to win until the end of my bankroll is gone. I don't think its a gambling problem because I don't like playing true gambling games (roulette, craps, slots), I just can't accept losing and I don't know how to quit on a task and unfortunately my whole bankroll is available online. Plus the fact that its very hard to slow your brain down since online poker is at a much faster pace.
I really want to learn how to do well and succeed at online poker. When I'm playing my A game I feel that I can do reasonably well at the stakes that I play. Unfortunately my F game is a total disaster at the moment.
If you have any advice or want to help guide me through this process it would be greatly appreciated. I'm finally ready to quit coasting through poker and expecting unrealistic results without the appropriate effort and hard work needed. I know its not going to be easy but I am determined to figure this problem out and become a winning online poker player. Thank you for taking the time to read this and good luck at the tables!
