Online poker as second job?
Hi guys,
I know that many of us are currently online pro players or regulars. In my case, I would like to get involve in the online poker as I carry on with the live poker which I play more often in the month. I know that the online level bit better than before and we need the poker trackers, to get more information.
I would like to make a big deposit than ever done it (like $1000) because before as many of them I think, I did many deposit like 25, 50, just to try to pinch something. But, nowadays, I think that I can be able to confirm me studies and experiences to try to invest in the poker online. By the moment, I have a full time work and I will be playing at nights.
I would like to focus in cash games, so I have to play many hands to have an EV+ or I should play every day to reach some objective for example, as $200 per night?
I would like to make the online poker as a "second job" just to get an extra money, but I don´t know the point of view as a Pro, how to handle this situation if I have to get focus in cash, Sit & Go, etc.
Thanks,

It takes a lot of work to make more than 10$/h at poker in 2016. Most new players that are able to move up and make more than that are very passionate about poker and spend all their free time playing and studying it.
Make sure you have realistic expectations and are willing to work hard if you are doing it to make money. Playing very low stakes and treating it as a hobby requires a lot less commitment, but you will not be able to make more than 10$/h.
I know that i am not going to be a pro, I really love my work, what on the weekends I go to the casino to do almost 600$ a week, as an extra money. But knowing that the poker online don´t required travel expenses and I don´t waste time in travel, It´s possible to compare that winnings on the poker online, it can not to be possible to handle that amount if I play every day, almost 3/4hs?
its of course possible, but (without this trying to sound like an insult to live play) I think its pretty commonly agreed that a stake runs much more competitively online than it does at its live counterpart. Its very hard to have such short term goals such as winning $200 a night because of the variance. It would be a huge amount of work most likely (I have no idea what level your play is) to get to a level to be crushing the games for that amount, especially due to the field having a lot more experience using certain softwares that are commonplace in those games now. My advice would be to research the softwares, get a feel for them, and definitely start at lower stakes than you play live while you adjust. Also, pick a type - eg NL 6max cash, MTTs, etc, as they all have strategies that in some cases contradict eachother and if you're not devoting lots of time to poker focusing on more than one I'm confident would be nearly impossible. It is definitely doable but this isn't something you can just walk into and would take a serious commitment to reach a point where it can be considered a part time job :) GL!
