New to run it once, seeking advice from the mental side of things.
New to this great site. I think this is where I have struggled the most in my poker career.
I kind of ramble on, but if any1 has any tips on playing on a low life roll or thoughts on my routine or study, let me know, thanks.
I have about 500,000 $ in winnings playing mtts, but I am by no means a pro at this point.
I peaked way too early, (age 18 with a >50,000$ score) and I thought I had it all figured out. Just the typical idiot young kid. Mixing drugs, too much partying, and 18 credits a semester is a disaster recipe for beating high stakes mtt. I just got fired from a pretty nice corporate job two months ago. Since then, I am up 2.5-3,000$ a month playing low stakes mtts.
My goal is to make >30,000 this year. The last year I played poker was Aug of 2012 to Aug of 2013 and it was a terrible year. I profited for around 14,000$. I've never had any balance in life when I am playing cards because I've always been going to college full time while playing high stakes mtts.
I want to work 60 hours a week while maintaining somewhat of a social life. I think it is pretty possible living in a college town, but I am no longer going to college.
My goals are to have a better set schedule of what I want to achieve. I am going to set my study routine into 3 parts. Advanced, intermediate, and routine play. This week I am looking at backwards induction for advanced study. Setting up turn c/r bluffs with a low SPR ratio, studying various RIO videos ,and analyzing the mental side of things for the intermediate section. Lastly, for the routine..as always just looking over spots.
Most of my studying will be done in the intermediate and routine regions as my low liferoll doesnt put me up against too many ballers currently.
However, one of the things I am curious about with backwards induction is, if you can get good enough to study HUD numbers, gameflow, and the strategy in relation to the EV of future cards before theyre dealt, I think you can be pretty tough to beat. But understanding game theory is like 100% understanding women, so I prolly wont spend a ton of time on that this week.
