New Feature: Adjust Playback Speeds
UPDATE (Sept. 27, 2013)
With any update we make to the site, we try to make sure a thorough job of testing is done. With the different browsers and operating system setups, there are times something is missed or an update doesn't go as smooth as it should.
Last night we posted an update to the video player which would allow for users to change the playback speed of videos. We implemented that alongside an update to use the HTML5 video player which going forward offers more flexibility and support on more devices.
After fixing an issue which came up with some users not receiving the updated file correctly, a different issue was being noticed. Some users that are in Chrome in Windows (a good majority of our users), are experiencing a browser crash after some time of watching a video with the HTML5 player. After doing more research on this, there is a bug within Chrome on Windows that isn't greatly documented and not yet fixed which is causing this. To patch this issue for the time being, all users who view the site on Chrome in Windows will be served up the former Flash video player. You will get the same viewing experience, but you will not have access to the playback speed controls. If you want the playback speed controls, for Window users I suggest for the time being looking at the site in IE 9 & 10 or Firefox.
Again, our apologies for the mishap and thanks for your patience with it all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has been requested for some time, but we're happy to say that being able to increase the playback speeds is now implemented. The default video player is now an HTML5 video player as apposed to Flash. If you are on a browser that doesn't support HTML5 video, you will be served up the Flash version of the video player. You will still get the same viewing experience, but the playback speed functionality will not be accessible.
To change the speed of your video, hover over the video and in the top left corner you will see an icon. Bring your mouse to that icon and a list of available speeds will be available to choose from.

nice to see - now i just have to make it work
it doesn't seem to allow me to adjust speed on ipad mini
speed adjustment works on PC but no sound? running windows 7 and firefox?
Unfortunately on iOS devices, the video is played through the devices default video player and that is out of our control. On my Windows 7 machine in Firefox, I had no issues with sound. Does the video have sound without changing the speed adjustment controls?
no sound on any speed
i tried clearing cache but that didn't help
just installed chrome on PC and sound and video run fine but no speed adjustment option like i had in firefox
crashes for me in firefox after I close the video. IE works fine though. (win 7)
Yeah videos are crashing every time on my Ipad too? Please advise
This has been fixed. Please let me know if you are still experiencing issues with this.
worked a few days ago but now no speed icon on either firefox or chrome running W7
it stopped working for me on w7 on both firefox and chrome
i can watch in flash but not in other player with speed options
?
There is an issue with the hosting company incorrectly caching a file related to the video player. We are working with them to get this remedied and hopefully will have a fix for you soon.
