Need motivation for todays session!( Last one took it away...:( )
My last session(I play mainly live-PLO) I run really badly. Got bad-beaten, coolored and bluffed by donkeys. I still kept my cool, din't start to tilt and played the best I could. I cant say I once made a play based that I steamed/aggrevated or tried to take my losses back. The sessions was a big loss money wise but I was still very pleased with myself since I did loose the minimum.
The last hand off the session I did something that never happend before. I saw the wrongs cards in my hand, though I had KKQ6 but when I turned them over to my big suprise it WAS: KQQ6.... that cost me my stack. It really ruined a session I was happy with since I did play my best and where I before would have tilted did not. I cant even say this mistake is poker related since I dint missplay my hand I just saw WRONG cards. It felt really horrible and as the session was a total disaster...
I am going to play today but this has demotivated me. How do you guys cope with this? Is this poker related or human related dunno how to solve this?

Done that many times before. Once I thought I had quads with 66 but I actually had 55 for bottom pair.
If you're properly bankrolled then losing 1 stack shouldn't even be a big deal and you can just shrug/laugh it off.
Get your eyes checked.
Just view today as a great opportunity to prove to yourself that you can play in the present moment. Use this as a building block to show yourself you play great even after a bad day.
Don't beat yourself up about the mistake. Zero benefit from festering on it. Before you play today I'd take time to write out a bunch of things that you have done well with lately. Focus on the good, build some confidence, be positive.
Good luck.
Thanks :)
Just remember that Michael Jordan made some stupid mistakes sometimes, so did Napoleon Bonaparte. Einstein did too.
You're going to make mistakes FOREVER. Just work on creating a better relationship with your mistakes. Don't beat yourself up over them, you're human. Just make sure you learn from them.
To sustain the motivation, you need to have proper Goals. And one of the best Goals is to eliminate your leaks, both technical and mental, one by one. By working on your leaks during the game, you concentrate on correct play instead of things like "money lost", "he is stupid fish", etc... I personally use PokerWarmUp.com before every single session now. Studying all aspect of Poker is a long process, so better keep some track of it. And the Repetition is the key to Study!
+1
And make sure to attach a "why" to your goals.
