Narrowed down my monitor search to these, $50 for best advice!
Hey, awhile back I made a thread about getting a new monitor. I received lots of feedback and narrowed down my search. I am looking for a monitor that is at least 2560 x 1440 and is around $300-$750: The primary goal: MULTITABLE, MULTITABLE, MULTITABLE.
(If you know anything on another site, that is fine to!)
If someone can suggest a great monitor and give a reason why it is a great multitabling monitor I will ship $50(if I do really good multitabling the new few months I'll ship some more :) )

You're on the right track about having a high resolution.
What you actually want is 2560x1600 at 30" rather than 2560x1440 at 27". The 3" might not seem like much but it's actually a night and day difference once you've already shrunk your tables down and only ants can read the font size. Your eyes will thank you severely!
I'm using a Dell U3011 flanked by two Dell 2007FP's in portrait mode. They're tied together using an EasyMountLCD mount. Here's a picture of my grind station:
It might be hard to find a 30" within the $300-750 price range as I think they are around $1000 new. But I got mine for $650 used on Craigslist so it can be done. I got my flanking monitors both $125 each so the entire setup cost me less than a grand (and that's Canadian dollars too!).
Another more efficient way to multi-table is to use a combination of stacking and tiling, rather than pure tiling. It saves eye movement and can increase your hands/hour while decreasing fatigue. There are programs for this like Stack and Tile and I think the latest version of Table Ninja can do it too. I personally haven't had much success with either program but since I play mostly Zoom poker nowadays, I only really need to have 4-6 tables tiled on my desktop.
Another great tool to reduce eye fatigue is f:lux. It automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast on your monitor to match the sunlight outside so the screen is less harsh on your eyes.
I use my left flanking monitor to check lobby, mucked hand histories and take notes, and the right flanking monitor to dump HH's to my weaktight account or post on RIO and to control my music while playing.
As an ex-gamer I've gone through countless single, dual, and triple monitor setups. I find my current setup to work best for my situation. Best of luck with yours!
Hey bdon22, what's the chair in the picture? is it to prevent back pain??
thanks in advance

I'm using this: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LU28D590DS/ZA
It's a cheap 4k monitor that I find works perfectly for grinding. It does however have some downsides but I guess that is to be expected for that price.
Here is a review from LinustechTips - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5YXWqhL9ik (He is a bit more focused on gaming though)
Do you use just the monitor or have flanking monitors? How many tables can you play at once?
I only use this monitor right now. 24 tables tiled is doable but text gets pretty small. 16 is perfect. (I'm getting old though so I usually only play somewhere between 6-12 tables. ;-) )
Thanks for the feedback! Looks like that is very efficient. So you highly recommend having flanking monitors with the main monitor? I was only planning on having a monitor, but seems like I might also need flanking monitors. So you think 27" monitors are totally not worth it?! I should only be looking for 30" monitors that I can buy flanking monitors with?
Does anyone else here have a similair setup?
Side monitors are far from a necessity... They're just nice to have. I've found that with a dual monitor setup your neck is always slightly turned towards one side and the line down the middle really bothers me. With 3 equal sized monitors you have to turn your head a lot to see the sides of each monitor. That's why the PLP (portrait-landscape-portrait) setup is so ideal. Everything is within your field of vision. Websites can be full screened easily on each side panel. The problem is that you need a 4:3 aspect ratio to do PLP otherwise the side monitors won't line up with the main display. And nobody makes 4:3 monitors anymore these days.
^^ good point. So do you recommend just getting a monitor then? No sides to it?
Misread what you wrote. How's many tables can you play on that sick setup? :)
The main display can show up to 12 tables tiled (3x4) and if you stack 2 on each that's 24. But these days I only play Zoom so much less tables on screen.
How many tables can be played at once on all three monitors? Approximently?
There's no point playing on the side panels. If you really want to go with a purely tiled setup then dual monitors might be the best option. nanonoko's desktop uses dual 30" monitors with 12 tables tiled on each. But even he recently switched to a single screen laptop with a stack and tile setup (11 tables x 2)
Btw how many tables do you intend on playing?
I am hoping to start off with 10 tables, then move my way up. I want to be able to see all my villians stats, make reads, and see hand histories for all 10 tables. I can do this easily right now with a crap laptop with 6 tables. I used to play as much as 20-25 tables at once in the Pokerstars days. However I wasn't making good reads and didn't play each table to the best of my ability. I am hoping to one day play 15-20 tables at a time and ALWAYS make the best possible play, and constantly make reads and review HHs at same time. So for now 10-12 tables, and hopefully I can work my way up to 15-20.
You can get dual 1440p 27" monitors for the same or less than the cost of a 1600p 30" monitor. I run dual dell 27's @ 1440p and love it for my work and playing a few tables while working/multi-tasking but I dont mass-table so I can't speak to tiling more than 6 or 8 tables on a single monitor.

Sick setup. How much do they cost together?
I got em on sale last December for ~$1,250 USD after state sales tax.
Thread will close tonight. Last chance for the $50 sweepstakes! So far I am leaning towards Trolldeg's suggestion. Seems like it does the same job as the others, at a cheaper price.
If you go with my suggestion. Ship the money to your choice of charity.
Alright just bought the Samsung monitor!!! Hoping it will help me have great success with Poker. I have made also made a donation to the Alzheimer's Association for the great feedback. GL to everyone!
Got the monitor! Minor problem though. My laptop only goes up to 1366X768 resolution. Do I need a graphic card to get the full 4k expirence?
I think anything above 1920x1200 requires a dual link DVI cable (and obviously a video card that can support it).
Right, I installed the drivers, but I guess I still need to buy additional stuff to get the full 4k resolution? If anyone can help direct me to the additional pieces I need to display the full resolution I will send $25 through paypal or charity. Really need to get this all setup before my big grind session on Saturday. (Called Samsung but the guy only recommended to setup the drivers, didn't know additional information like videocard etc)
So the issue at hand:
Bought this from Samsung:

Have this laptop: (only goes up to 1366 X 768) resolution.

I need to find a way to get the full resolution through this laptop.
I will also send extra $$$ if I can get a top 3 finish in the leader-board I am participating in. Would appreciate any help!
You might be SOL. I bent over backwards trying to get 2560x1600 to work on my laptop and it has a 1920x1080 native resolution. What I found out was that neither the VGA/HDMI ports could output resolutions that high. It had nothing to do with the graphics card. So for your case with a 4K monitor and even lower native resolution... good luck.
