Moving to PLO
Hello guys,
As many others are doing, i'm looking forward to move from NLHE cash games to PLO since i got hooked on it just after playing about 5k hands.
First my (yet) short background in poker:
I started playing poker this February on 888 poker, taking advantage of their no deposit bonnus, and i grind it up from there up to 200$ e about a month and a half playing just SNGs (6 and 9 players), after that i moved to cash games playing 6-max up to 25nl, where i was able to grind my bankroll up to about 1200$. As far as study goes, i have read a few books (Collin Mushman - Sit n Go Strategy, David Sklansky - The Theory of Poker, David Sklansky and Ed Miller - NLHE: Theory and Practice and Pot Limit Omaha by Jeff Hwang), i've also watched some videos on both NLHE and PLO, as well as reading lots of articles especially on this forum and on ZenFish blog since i got more interested in PLO.
Now i've just decided to start playing exclusively PLO since i consider it a much mor fun game than NLHE, and i'll have the time to study the game (college break from engeneering degree), so i have a few questions for the more experienced PLO players:
I'm thinking to start grinding it up from 200$ or 250$ on Pokerstars, so at wich stakes would you recommend me to start? I'm thinking 5PLO, 10PLO, os even SNGs?
I've read a lot about BRM, and i learned that at this lower stakes the variance is not that big, but i still think that for a newbie as me playing with a 20-25 buy-ins is just to risky, isn't it?
Wich other books about PLO would you recommend me?
Wich videos from RIO (buying the Essential plan) would you say are a good starting point?
I was a solid player at 25NL playing 4 Zoom tables at once or up to 9 regular tables, but i'm thinking starting with just 2 reg tables for PLO, or do you consider it is to conservative?
I will use this topic to post my progression as well as some of my study material, so that other players in the same situation as i am now can take it as a guide for future reference.
Cheers
