Moving abroad for poker 2

After reading Chael Sonnen his thread I decided to make my own, since I have some other requirements. I am looking for a country that:

-Is tax free

-Is not too expensive

-Is in Europe if possible.

I know Malta is often mentioned, but are there no other places?

I can recommend Hungary, but I am not sure about the tax part. I play on pokerstars.com with a foreign account without any problems (not professional).

if you are from US you will still owe US taxes no matter where you live

yes, but you can be exempt up to earnings of ~$85,000 a year if you are out of the country for more than 330 days approximately. If you renounce citizenship there is a large fee and you still have to pay taxes for many years

Only thing I care about is a gym, super market, living with some other poker players, maybe close to a beach, don't need a big city. Any recommendations?

Also big thanks already!

Thailand is great, but the hours are terrible for primetime. The best games are around midnight - 4 AM. I like Thailand and so does everyone else who moves here. The countrys laws and regulations are very fluid and you will not encounter any problems. The food is outstanding, its very affordable (even luxury is affordable), Thai girls are great fun, and being able to get $3/hour Thai massages after (or during) a rough session is invaluable. You can set up a bank account with only a tourist visa, and its easy and cheap to bounce around indefinitely in the area. The flights are cheap to and from the region, you can fly to other parts of thailand for very cheap (<$100, sometimes $~20-$30), (Phuket & Pattaya, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai). All of those regions are extremely different from one another; they even speak different dialects, have different foods, and the landscape and people are much different. Its a great place to live, but the hours are a major put-off. The political situation here, ATM, is also unstable. It usually is, however right now the military coup has official taken over the government, the most beloved poltiical figure is having health problems, which might stir up a lot of turmoil. That said, its not much different from normal and its an amazing place to live. However, I would recommend considering somewhere else for permanent living than Thailand now. The Phillipines is a total shithole 3rd world wreck, where the food is awful, the infrastructure is terrible, its much more dangerous, and uncomfortable. You will experience third world slums straight from the airport. That said, they have insanely beautiful girls who speak great english, even better than Thais, and they are very friendly people. I would definitely recommend visiting the Philippines before deciding to stay long term, and checking out most other places in the region first. I am tempted to try Costa Rica or Colombia soon myself after years in Thailand.

Waves, filipina here.
Feel free to ask.

And I agree with czgory, philippines can look like a s%#^ hole but us Filipina are .

If you choose philippines, I wouldn't recommend manila. Cebu is less busy and less of a s%#% hole.

Serbia seems like a good option for sure. Thanks guys. I am really surprised it is tax free but if you guys say so it has to be :)

*it is pretty far away though. Slovenia is much more central in Europe.
