Lockdown Challenge(s)

Small lockdown challenge (first of a couple maybe):
-> Play 25k tilt free hands at 16NL Zoom on stars/
-> Revisit "From the Ground Up" - hopefully in readiness for some stakes climbing
-> Post some hands and get better.

Would be keen to hear who else is using the lock down to reinvigorate their poker hobby.

Well - 8300 hands in and I haven't really achieved the goal of playing 25000 tilt free hands. I haven't really tilted hard at all but I have had a couple of sessions where I have made some big mistakes getting sucked into 4 bet pots when I shouldn't be as well as getting a bit too sticky on rivers at other times. So I guess have run ok to be up around 6 buy-ins.

Next set of hands will be looking to shut down those two leaks specifically.

The hope was to use this 25000 hands to get the bankroll up to where I could have some stabs at 25nl but I am thinking about playing the $55 turbo main event tomorrow and then maybe a bunch of micro millions events as its literally years since I have had the time to play many tournaments and it might be fun. Will still be finishing this set of 25k hands over the next 3 or 4 days though.

Messy looking graph:

Reminder today that playing in autopilot / multitasking can leak money really quickly. I am very confident that when I am fully focused I can beat the micro zoom games but my B game involves getting very sticky and trying to find bluffs where there aren't any and you can leak money so quickly when you do that.

Anyway - overall I guess its still not a terrible result to date. Will likely take a day off poker tomorrow - feeling a bit jaded after a lot of hands this weekend. The downswing in the graph below was not due to variance - just donating money to good hands.

Try to finish this batch of 25k hands by the weekend and hopefully be ready for some 25NL soon - or maybe some micro millions. TBD.

I played really badly Sunday through Thursday.
- Was 4 tabling cash tables
- Often had tournaments up
- My PC was lagging and leaving me short of time - finally figured out it was time for a HEM DB refresh - my pc seems to be able to handle about 50k hands in HEM database - anymore and it gets laggy.

I went back to 3 tables yesterday and today and have had a nice upswing. Clearly the right mindset makes a massive difference to play and therefor results. Given my challenge was to play 25k hands of tilt free poker at 16NL I have to concede failure as for long periods I was definitely auto piloting and in some way or another tilting (making poor decisions).

So despite being profitable I am not quite rolled for a stab at 25NL so I am going to keep playing in the background to get to that point and will come back to document the first stab at 25nl if and when I get there.
