I need to start Crushing
I am beating 50nl making 14$ an hour 4 tabling. I need to take that next step, and I am not sure what it is but I think I may need to loosen up. Most of the 6-max crushers seem to play a lot of hands, and three bet a lot more than I do. Maybe I just need to get an elite membership and watch some of these pros at my stakes. I don't know. Does anyone have any advice for taking the next big step?
I feel like I am always getting better, but I am at the point where I am not improving as quickly as I did when I was a fish. Although I think this is normal, I don't want to be stagnant. I need to get dominant, and fast. I am playing full-time right now, and I have about a year to build a 4k roll into enough to live off of. If not poker will be a hobby. But I know I have the work ethic to do it. I just need a little guidance from time to time ;)........
Thanks to all of you here at Run it Once!

Keep plugging away and dont rush things - I've never been in a spot to play pro but I've had 3 friends who have been in a position to turn pro and they have all blew it trying to build up a roll overnight and thus playing games they weren't good enough to play and didn't have the right bank roll to deal with the variance at that level.
If you're treating it like a full time job (40hours a week) you will be making $560 a week so just a little over 7 weeks to make your 4k target. If you do this 48weeks of the year you will be on $26,880 a year - if that $14/h doesn't include rakeback this figure will be quite a bit higher.
Keep improving and keep playing - once your understanding of theory and mathematics reaches a certain level the majority of improvement is leak plugging. Stay disciplined and keep at it - you will be in a great posistion if your win rate is sustainable.
I am actually already at the 4k mark! I was saying that I have built my roll to 4k, and need to continue building to the point where I can play as a pro hopefully. I agree with plugging leaks, but I often wonder how much that matters in comparison to finding more ways to exploit opponents at 50NL and below. I am sure the higher up you go, the more important it is to play balanced and plug the holes in your game.
I agree with Nickski. Don't try to force it, cause then you might end up making bad decisions that could jeopardize your goal. I'm not a NL player so I can not give you any specific advice about the game, so sticking to a strict bankroll management, watch vids in here, keep posting, and join the hands discussions is the advice you will get from me. Position is a vital factor when 3betting, but I'm sure that you are well aware of this.
Good luck, Max.
I like the dedication and the fact that you strive to get better all the time. Just do it the smart way and you will be fine I'm sure. ;)
Thanks man. Been playing a lot more PLO as of late, and I actually find HUPLO to be more fun, and I have a much bigger edge (or so it may seem).
Use strict BRM. Poker is a game where the turtoise always beats the hare.
I couldn't agree more. Best fortune Cookie I ever opened said, "Time and Patience are called for, many surprises await you."
