How many hands needed to see if I can beat low stakes NL ZOOM?

Hi,

I am thinking about switching to Zoom Poker at Low stakes. It´s simply the massiv amount of hands you can play per hour that attracts me!

What would you say how many hands I´d have to play to get a good idea of what my game is worth there?

Let´s say after 20k hands I make 8 BB/100 in average.... how much can it differ from the result I would really deserve?

What after 50k or 100k hands?

it could differ allot. 20k hands, especially at zoom literally mean nothing. winrates bb/100 at zoom are generally a tad lower compared to regular tables, but you can make it up with hands per hour + rakeback.

If you feel confident in your game and don´t rely on your winnings as a source of income just test the waters, take shots and move up and down accordingly.

Thanks for the answer!

The point is, I play at a very small european site most of the time.

The advantage is that it is softer than Full Tilt or Stars.

The disadvantage is that there is very little traffic....

Sometimes just 2-3 tables at my stake on a sunday afternoon!

I played only like 50-80k hands online last year.... So testing the water may take a long time for me.

I know that it´s absolut impossible to answer my question exactly:)

But I would be very curious about some guesses of very expierenced players.

Something like:

- If you make 10BB over 30k hands you can expect that the value of your game is between 3-12 BB/100 at a 85% chance

or

- If you make 4BB/100 over 100k hands it´s between 2-6 BB/100 at 95%.

Just to give me an idea of when I can compare the results of the 2 different games.

I choosed BB/100 and not BB/hour because of the little traffic at the other site. (somethimes just 2 tables sometimes 4-6).

Really looking forward for some guesses:)

The figures depend on your standard deviation. :)

Assuming a SDEV of 100bb, your confidence intervals after 30k hands, 10bb/100 are:

70% confidence interval [4.23 - 15.77 bb/100]
95% confidence interval [-1.55 - 21.55 bb/100]

You can test your own results here:

Even 100k hands could be a small sample size to judge your expected, especially at ZOOM.

200-400k hands and we will know a lot. Anything less doesn't give us any realistic idea about BB/100 in zoom. Good luck to you. ;)
