Hand and brain not communicating

I used to do this more often, but still occasionally find that I'll bet, someone will raise, I'll run through what I can beat, evaluate the situation, decide I,m behind, mean to fold, and suddenly I either call, or more likely, shove. WTF! Does anyone else do this? I think it has to do with feeling someone is trying to run me over too frequently, but generally my first read was right. I'm improving and don't do this much, but still. It sucks. Any explanation for this brain lapse?

I tend to believe that overcoming this is a large part of what separates the average players from the good players and the good players from the great players. So many players will often "know" the right decision, they simply do the wrong thing. I see posts in SSNL and SSPLO with really elaborate through processes and logic but those same people are the ones calling/shoving when they shouldn't.

There has to be some element of human nature that dictates why this happens. Perhaps it's what snapfold said - people just don't want to be bullied or run over. Maybe it's a need to confirm how unlucky you are.
