Going from MTT to Ring

Hi guys, I am new to Run It Once and want to introduce myself to the community. I have been 4 years in playing mostly SnG and MTT games as I started right before Black Friday. I live in Lexington, KY and am 42 years old. I have a supportive wife and 3 kiddos all under the age of 11 years of age. I started running since the beginning of spring and have actually got a couple of 5k runs and will be running my first 10K on July 4th.

I know this is a poker journal but i have made some changes. I have decided to move away totally from MTT's. I started the Ring journey the fist of this month. My goal is to get 25K hands in by the end of the month (I know not much but look at the intro paragraph 3 kids + wife + full time job)

The reasons of moving from MTT and RIng is (1) it brings more flexibility to my life. I can stop and go. I can choose to not play and get off and on at anytime. (2) In my experience with MTT's, I studied my game and feel better suited for Ring games regarding my winrate. My style of play can be honed better to make a better hourly rate than I do with MTT's. (3) I am simply so terribad at MTT's. I don't simply put enough volume in a given year to justify playing to be able to win. Living in US makes it very difficult to have a good win rate for there aren't enough games at certain times to play in the bankroll that I carry. (4) BRM. I am not able to put in the amount of volume in MTT's to make as good a winrate with the Bankroll that I have. I am finding more games in ring than i do in MTT's. I am a bit of a bankroll nit (for i had learned the hard way of not following bankroll management).

BANKROLL MANAGEMENT
currently RING 10nl = i require at least 30 bi and if I fall below that, then drop down in stakes and don't move up until I i am at least 10bb+/100 and double the bi so 60 bi at a time before moving up.

MTTs (past tense) was 200 buyins so i bought in for a 5 buck tourney at 1000 bucks. I started 4 years ago and got the 1K bankroll from SnG and headsup SnG and then moved over to MTT's and played that for 3 years. I had busted the roll probably 3 times. It was horribad. I hope that maybe later after I master Ring games and my kiddos are a bit older, I may venture back.

I find much more consistancy in RIng games so i am crusing through the videos here on RIO and looking for some ring friends through here and start posting some hands and reading through the forums of others and listening to any strat podcasts I can get a hold of when I am at my full time J O B.

Hope to meet you all in the forums.

Two days ago I had a bad session and lost four buy ins. I left the table and was beyond my stop loss of two buttons for the day. This is something new to me for I haven't played ring. I know there is a bit of variance but I basically got ran over.

I stopped and looked back at my hands and I seriously played like a donkey. I had ranged wrong totally and realized I wasn't feeling well that day. I also noticed since I am still new to ring and my hands are only showing 1500 hands and I was up 44bb/100. After this death day, the chart went way way down and tilted the rest of my deposit roll.

I am so glad that I do this. I deposit only what my stop loss is. I deposit with my credit card that is loaded with my poker bankroll, i deposit on the day of 4 buyins and at the end of the day, I withdraw with bitcoin and rinse and repeat each session. This day, I lost all 4 of my buyins and for the first time, I hit my stop. I have decided to stop and assess and then hit it again next week. I plan on taking off this weekend and hit it mid next week and hit the books and videos.

Wonder if I am just being a donk or is this normal in ring?

I have taken a little break reading up some Jarod Tendler and catching some good vidz on RIO.i am feeling really good about a new attitude and ready to get back at it.

I am really seeing a mental leak in my mindset dealing with results. My results are way off that is setting me up literally for failure.
I am going to try and not have daily $$ results. This is huge problem for me. My daily results should be volume and get rid of my C and D game and think and play optimally.

I also am moving rooms. It will be bovada. I need volume and that is the only place I can go for 10nl zoom like tables. So I am moving rolls which I am going from Bitcoin to hard cash. Lol. Nice to see Bitcoin hit up so waiting for deposit in account to deposit.
