From Depression to Profession
Hello everyone!
I am not really sure why i decided to start this journal but here i am.
I had ~$500 lying around on my skrill so i bought FTGU and GTO+ on black friday.
The rest was deposited to Pokerstars.
Starting at 5NL and i will take shots once i have 50buyins for the next stake.
BR is at $391.04 right now.
The big goal is to reach highstakes simple as that.
I've played only a couple of hours this month so the first goal is to crank up my volume to 2k hands/day and finish FTGU.
If you guys have any recommendations in regards of must watch RIO essential videos or questions about me let me know.
Will post daily updates.
That's it for now see you at the tables

Peter Clarke's videos are essential videos. The concept ones tend to complement From the Ground Up a decent amount. And it's always nice to see videos applying the concepts Peter teaches in From the Ground Up.
Xing Yang is another one I recommend. He's an Elite coach now but his older videos are essential. It's theoretical, explains a specific concept rather well in each video.
Saulo Riberio is also really good. Also an Elite coach by now. He is part owner of probably the best staking group that exists. I know several of my fellow study group members like his videos a lot.
Patrick Sekinger is the only one I like watching Play&Explains from. He seems to excel at range thinking. I aspire to one day be as good as him in that regard.
A lot of people like Henry Lister. Play&Explains isn't my thing. The few videos I saw seemed solid though!
Tarig Haji's videos are all recent. I haven't found the time to watch them though. More up to date videos tend to be better anyway. Do check him out.
When you're not sure. Check out a video and see if you like the teaching style of that coach.
Welcome to RIO. Study well. Good luck at the tables!

Tell us a bit about yourself :)
Don't want to pry about depression, but since it's in the title of your post and your user name includes the word dead, please feel free to get anything off your chest. I've been finding solace in poker myself and struggle with depression this time of year. Hang in there and GL at tables!
lIlCitanul thanks for the recommendations really appreciate it
HeavyMask i am in my late 20s now and started playing poker ten years ago had a little success at micro/lowstakes mostly sitngo formats (can't stand them anymore)
took a bunch big breaks inbetween and now i am back to hopefully crush cashgames
(i played live cash here and there in private games but only 1/2)
Brady2moss79 well tbh i am struggling with depression for quiet some time now (5-6 years) hence the title i guess
started getting treatment beginning of this year and my condition is improving thankfully but it's still a long way to go
poker is basically the only thing i enjoy doing right now even though i spend like 5 hours coding yesterday lol
pokerwise i studied a lot today and therefore played only a really short session
graph for today

Struggle myself, lifelong. Poker was a respite once, until it became a career at which point it just became part of the day. Took close to five years off and wallowed a lot but I'm excited to be back. Hang in there and if you ever need someone to vent to about things, @ me here.
Post some hands and GL!
Brady2moss79 thanks man, i doubt that i will have to vent because of poker tho haha
today was so-so bunch of coolers, hitting nothing in 4bet pots whatever
i am still lost in a lot of spots and just click buttons most of the time so i have to study more
atleast i managed to reach my daily volume goal
graph for today
was super busy on sunday and forgot to update
having stupid card distribution right now zero action with AA/KK -> jam with AK villains have KK+ only which means grinding it up to lose it in couple allins WHATEVER gotta keep on moving
i tried 3 tabling zoom but i auto pilot way to hard so back to 2 maybe even 1
i was thinking about regtables but starting tomorrow players from where i am from can only blind sit a table so i think i will just stick to zoom
Graph of last 2 days
I decided to go with a more aggressive BRM on micros and played some 10NL
Will be away until the next year but i am going to study a lot more and come back
with a more structured plan cause i think this is what's holding me back the most
(and obviously my volume but i will fix all of this)
Wish you all a merry christmas
Graph for this month
Looking good.
Enjoy the studying. Happy holidays! See you next year.
Best of luck for the next year
