Former US pro out of the loop, need advice for 1 month Bovada grind (or whatever US Site is better now)
Former US pro (~2006-2012) turned debt-laden college student trying to make some cheddar over winter break. Took full 2 year hiatus without playing, started back on bovada this summer. Binked tourney for a nice score & probably played less than 2500 hands (live & online) since June.
On Winter Break, ready to grind on Bovada. nee help to avoid unnecessarily bleeding EV. Have very little idea how to correctly play in the new market (esp. Bovada) and am simply guesstimating vs apparent regs on too many marginal spots. I assume there are now some standard very profitable way regs handle certain situations such as static boards on bovada. This stuff used to be intuitive but I'm losing out on equity atm. Without having many reads bc of anonymous tables
No idea about the "table trends" on Bovada (besides lobby stats) If rake is too much of an issue at the lowest stakes I can deposit to play 1/2 but would like to avoid if I can grind up. Don't need a ton of $ right now. In the glory days I usually played predominately 5/10-25/50 NLHE PLO and online mtts with alot of success.
PLO cash will be my new home for a while & maybe a few mtt's (not fan of the inflexible sched). Based on table stats in the lobby and my minimal experience there are clearly tons of mistakes being made. At the same time, rake is proportionately f** huge at those stakes.
Can you guys please fill me on some "need to know" issues before I dive in? I'm sure there are better strategies for playing at these anonymous tables (over attack paired boards), The rake back situation and strategy evolution are the main things I'm worried about. Would be willing to hire a coach for a few sessions. I'd really appreciate a few tips on how to adapt and if there are any specific videos around here that I should watch? With my current situation does it make sense to upgrade my membership here? As a reference I used to play predominately
Thanks in advance
