Yet i played a hand just now: http://weaktight.com/6386415 villain weak lead/3bets this board (from experience this is eminent strength), he 1/2 pots turn and river - a standard value sizing, and leaves himself some chips behind so as to not scare me with an all in
I don't know why i STILL have trouble folding, that i am not following my own instructions. I have it clear in my mind before the session AND during the session i do find folds but eventually a 'folding threshold' is reached and once again i'm faced with a decision where i have the top of my range set/nut flush/fullhouse and they haven't even really repped something better until finally i'm faced with a pot donk bet OR flop or turn minraise OR river check shove
Whats more frustrating is that it isn't versus nits. If it was a nit it would be an easy fold, but the villain would have some outrageous stats and donating to the whole table, yet i find a way to double him up with a 'worse' hand set or better
I do feel like i am CONSTANTLY in spots where i have to fold the top of my range. During play i might get into a spot, start counting combos, make the assumptions and its often i case of "he can really only have quads here", "only if he called two big bets with a mere gut shot can i be beat", "only if he was bluffing with a low pocket pair and now rivered a set" - in each case i can come up with more bluff combos then value, i look at the odds which is always reasonable and sure enough they have it again
I'm using this post to try delve deeper as to whats really going on. Because i look at my 'Tilt' notes and its always 'struggled to find a fold' [... or 'bluffing villains of wrong player type' (didn't adjust to villain being call happy and bet anyway), although i'm focusing on the 'fold' part for now]
