Computer advices needed
Hey there,
I am about to buy a new computer, but as a tech noob I am clueless which one is best for me.
I'll use the computer exclusively to play poker and run PIO SIMs. Nothing else.
Any tech gurus in the house that can recommend me a good computer that would suit best for me?
Thanks a lot in advance. Cheers

Probably better off just using services like GTO base and GTO wizard if you're a tech noob in general, and then buying a cheaper PC. You don't have to spend ages on building and running simulations and don't have to spend much on buying a PC.
Desktop is best for Pio. CPU is what matters for PIO so get a modern one with at least 12 cores. For example Ryzen 5900x or intel i7 or i9 in 12000 series. 16gb ram is fine for most people but some people benefits from more.
Example:
AMD Ryzen 5800x or 5900x
16gb ram
Windows 11
The rest is not important for poker but I'd not go smaller than 500gb hard disk.
Even a potato PC will do for playing. Screen size and resolution is what matters the most. I'd say 24 inch is smallest I'd go and is good for 4 tables with minimal table selection. 27 inch is better. You want at least 32 inch if you play 8 or more tables with lobbies from 2 or more sites.
Laptop is not ideal for Pio but you can find some gaming ones with decent CPUs that will suffice. I'd still get an external screen if you go the laptop route.
I built my own computer as a complete novice with help from the people of the 2+2 computer help forum, here's the thread: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/48/computer-technical-help/new-pc-build-advice-needed-1785228/
