It was rly good, however it felt like time went super fast.. Would like to see Mr Sulsky doing a 2nd part.. I think the questions people asked in the chat and some of the questions joey asked were really bad and boring. I think they should have talked more about Ben and maybe less about some other stuff (Hard to pin point what I disliked..)
I agree, with sweet. I thought it was pretty good but could have been better. I want to hear more about adventures like iceland , his thoughts on detecting the bots and especially just about how he thinks about and approaches poker/life in general.
Too much time was spent asking him how much money he's won/lost in a day or what his downswings were like or if he thinks he should be in the top 5 etc. Clearly hes not the type of guy to just proclaim his greatness in a public medium and maybe I'm alone on this but frankly its not that interesting whether or not hes lost 600k or 800k or w/e
It's joey, he's likeable but if he just made his conversations/interviews a bit more "professional" they'd be more interesting. A professional comedian could get away with a relaxed style like he does but he's simply not funny enough to pull it off.

I dont agree with this at all, I would almost say like the opposite.. In previous podcasts like Lefort, Ben86, Dankness and Jason Mo for example, I really felt like I got to know those persons because the podcasts were way more personal. I didn't feel that I got to know Ben Sulsky at all, like Apotheosis said how much money he made and lost in a day is not really interesting.. You can probably guess that on your own, and does it really matter what the answer is? I think Joey is really great, but this was far from his best performance imo.
I do still enjoy his podcasts a lot so my comment came off pretty harsh. I just think if he cut out a smidge more bullshit but still kept it casual it'd be better.
Joey says it himself its not an interview its just a conversation which isn't taken too seriously which is probably why his podcasts are so good, sweet16 i get what your saying about not getting to know sauce like u did lefort, ben86 etc but i think that was the real sauce you where getting to know. Seems like a kinda private guy which explains why he doesn't have any type of social media or that.
I agree with Apotheosis. We get one of the greatest poker minds ever to play the game on a short podcast, and all I can remember is the poem and Joey taking 15 mins to pull off a mediocre Ike impression.
I'm still appreciative of Joey for getting Sauce on, and Sauce for coming on, but I personally think it would have been significantly better if we heard about things such as Iceland, Philosophy (which sauce has studied) and I don't know, more academic/intellectual things instead. If you're going to make a life podcast rather than a poker podcast, or even both combined, then at least make the life part interesting to an adult and less like two cool high school kids (who haven't discovered books yet) squabbling about girls and other things.
Joey's podcasts have received a lot of positive reviews, but I'd question the legitimacy of those reviews. I think, for the most part, poker players have been extremely excited to see the guests that have so far come on the show, e.g. ben 86, sauce, lefort etc, and as a result, regardless of the content of the podcast, people are satisfied. Point: I don't think Joey is a good "conversationalist" unless his audience is a bunch of high school kids.
I am not a 'high school kid' per se but I enjoy listening to a lot of the banter. I can sympathize that some topics on the podcast are not for everyone.
As far as I know, chicagojoey is the only one out there providing a platform for many online pros to get some exposure and just hang out and answer some questions. Some people want more strategy or different topics but unless you think you can do a better job then be very thankful for what joey has already given the poker community. Its a lot of free entertainment with a peek into many top notch poker players approach and lifestyle. If I can fire up a podcast while grinding and watch CTS or Sauce just kick the shit then I feel very lucky. Even if all the discussions/topics are not 100% what I want them to be.

Some harsh comments in this one. Just seeing them now :)
I really make the podcasts for myself to enjoy. I enjoy all of the conversations I have with people when they are on (most of them). Of course all conversations you have could be better. I'm sure I could have elaborated on a few things or talked more about this or less about that. Sauced seemed much more normal than I would have expected and I was enjoying be able to have a fun conversation with him.
I'm sure it could have been better for some to hear about academic/intellectual things, philosophy or in depth strategy but I am certainly not the person to have those discussions with him.

He is actually walking on the treadmill all the time.
Watched the whole thing live. Recommended!
You can now follow the same link to rewatch the 3:17 hours.

Can't believe Sauce didn't say "funny spot" or "I'll start with half pot" on a three hours video.
There was a treadmill though.
His room looked more messy. I always imagined it to be very tidy, almost like one would expect from surgeon.
The Sulsky crushed.
What was Joey saying about Fedor and bots ?
This.
Cliffs ?
Nevermind...i`ll read the thread later.

That poem was pure gold though

If you are looking for in depth academic intellectual discussion I can see why you would question the legitimacy of any reviews.
