Bankroll Managment
Hey,
I'm thinking about grinding $1/2 NLHE games at my local casino, and I'm wondering if $4000 will be a big enough bankroll. I plan on buying in for between $125-$150, which gives me 27-32 buy ins. I used to play $2-4 live, and I was a winning player for awhile. But i was always under rolled for those stakes, and eventually I went on a big down swing, and I busted. So do you guys think 4k will be enough to be able to withstand the variance? Or should I be looking to have at least 6k or more?
I know bankrolls can be a very customizable numbers, which depend on many variables, but I am a competent player, and I am miles ahead of the average donks frequently seen grazing at the $1/2 live games.
This is my first time posting on here, and any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

With the much softer level of play coupled with how many less hands are dealt live than online I'd say $4,000 is perfectly fine.
Yeah, 4K is good amount to be playing at those stakes. Typically, you need at least 20x the max buy-in for levels. An example would be $1/$2, let's say $50 min buy-in to $200 max buy-in. You just do 20x200 and you get 4,000. You can apply that to any level you play. 20x the max buy-in for any level you play at is standard, and gives a player a good idea of what stakes he/she should be playing at. Good luck to you.
yea defo just have a stop loss aswell of 2-3 bi's a night til u get ur roll up abit, and the best way to do that is just bring a certain amount with u as when ur at the table its not as easy to just quit with cash on the hip, is it a gambler game were they spin bi's pre or do they play senseable enough
fine as long as you have job/other income :)
Alright, thanks for the advice.
If I do end up busting, I'm coming to you guys for a refund hah :D
