Bankroll Management: Starting out
I am looking for some ultra-tight advice. I've been playing poker for a year, and I fluctuate at an unhealthy rate. I play $.50/1 PLO and NLH as well as throwing far too many MTTs into the mix. I am in the process of delving into my game, as I want it to become a good income stream in addition to my professional career. To do this, I need to look at my structure, my bankroll management and my attitude.
When you guys started, all the pro's on this website and every other player inputting on the discussion, how did you get to grips with bankroll management? You hear so many stories about the Pro's depositing $50 and never looking back - so did they just spin it up at $.25/50 100BB cash game, or did they do as bankroll management suggest and play with $2 at $.01/.02.
I'm really confused. How did you become winning players, from starting so low? Did you just grind thousands of hours at ultra low stakes? Where was your contingency? What structure did you use?
I know there are numerous questions here, but I would appreciate any input. I just feel my structure lets me down, and leads to tilt which is killin' my game.
Thanks guys in advance for any opinions/help/advice.
