Ah.. Good Ole' Gus

It's pretty understandable that Gus had an absolutely terrible 2013 year, actually breaking records for biggest losses online, but I can't tell if his accusations can be true or it's just a result of an overly-tilted poker pro? What do you guys think?

I don't understand how he can continue to play after losing 8.5 mill in one year online. Does he just have endless amounts of money or did he just absolutely crush the live games?  Does he have just some great deal with full tilt?

I think he at one point had an edge on some of mixed games but once people saw him winning they quickly took the time to learn the other games knowing they could eventually beat him. If you watch  recently some non high stakes regulars are even taking shots at him knowing that there is a great chance they will score big and i don't blame them.

As for the accusations I do not know. You do not know what type of deals/rules these guys have, but i do think anything is possible. Bottom line is he has always been known for his tilt and we all been there where when we lost big and the thought crossed your mind you were bamboozled..

There are programs that are allowed by Stars that all but play for you that most don't know about. No one knows what SallyWoo does or doesn't do, but I don't think the accusations by Gus are that far fetched.

If there is a program that has solved FLO8, there will be people that use it. As a poker player, you can only control your own actions. In this case, I think Gus needs to use better table selection. If this player plays well, then he should find better action. Who cares how he is playing well? Shaking a crystal ball and choosing moves? Using cloud computing to chug through the entire game tree to play perfect? Spent tens of thousands of hours studying and becoming an expert at the game? Doesn't matter.

The goal of poker is to make money, so you need to put yourself in situations where you can make money. Playing against someone who plays "perfect" poker isn't going to be a plus EV situation no matter how overconfident you are.
