6-max NL5 to 10K a month, to begin with!
Hey!
My name is Albin, I'm 18 years old and I have a huge interest in poker. My first bigger goal is to make a living of it & eventually make 10k+ euro a month, and later on moving up to the nosebleeds which is my ultimate goal. It's a far road from here but I'm determinerad to make it. I've been playing poker for around 1,5 years but due to not taking it serious at the beginning and later on lack of discipline I haven't got further than where I am today. I've also been switching formats back and forth but I've decided to stick to 6-max and specilize in it.
The reason why I want to become professional is because there's nothing else I want to do for a living, anything else than poker would for me just be a drag. And i reason, if taking a job i don't like I will completly wasting my life. I would than, be doing things i don't like in order to go on doing things i don't like, which is stuiped.
Why i started this poker journal is because that I think tracking my progress will help me achieve my goals easier. As I said earlier, I've been lacking in disciplin and that's a huge leak. I know that i won't reach my goal if I don't fix that, and I believe writing down the hours spent for everyone to see will help me overcome bullshit excueses.
My thought is to write an update once a week on my progress and how it's going, f.e. the hours played each day etc.
I appreciate all tips and help!!
Short term goals:
Follow my routine 100% until I start school again (than I'll create a new one that fits my scheme)
My routine at the moment is 7 hours play, 90-100 min study, 6 days a week. The routine might change, but never in the way of decreasing time spent on improving. Right now I'm practising equity with UHLVAR, which is a program found at bestpokercoaching, doing 15 hands each morning.
I'm reading The Grinders Manual by Peter Clarke and taking notes, trying to make a sort of mind map with rules that i can follow and notes that i can think of while playing. I'm also, ofc, doing hand reviews. I will start to post the RIO from now on. Last but not least, I watch strategy video, It's mainly been on pokerstrategy.com but I'll change my subscription to RIO in about 2 weeks.
Weekly goal:
Learn the pot odds perfectly, knowing how much time we need villain to fold with a certain bet & how often we have to be good facing a bet
I wish you the best of luck at the tables!!
