0 to €100k Challenge - Working my way up the stakes
Hi all,
Welcome to my poker journal. In this journal I will work my way up from 50nl/100nl to MSNL+ and put in the necessary hours to earn €100,000. I will post daily updates until I complete this challenge. I will be playing on one Euro site to begin with and may add more in the future. Rakeback will definitely count towards the €100k goal and I would really like to achieve within a year (by next March). I will also log life goals here.
A little about me:
I am in my mid 20s and recently completed a postgrad degree (managed to achieve all the geeky awards and have some publications under my belt). Pre BF I was a 200nl-600nl reg, however, I have not played a whole of poker since as I endeavored towards academic life for many years. In this time I can see the poker landscape has drastically changed, not only in terms of strategy but the state of the games and web sites. The good part is that I tried to keep up with strategy to a certain degree - watching some videos every month and playing a few thousand hands per month.
Poker Goals:
- 0 to €100k with daily updates on progress
- Move up from 50nl/100nl towards midstakes and then highstakes
- Work on my mental game - I am highly competitive and don't deal well with losing, something I definitely need to work on
- Average 140h of poker per month
- Take breaks every 90min to refresh
- Work on my game - if I am notice I am struggling with a certain concept such as BB play I will work on that aspect until I feel confident with my strategy
Life Goals:
- Continue to live a healthy lifestyle - eat well and sleep well
- Workout 5 days per week for 45min, I feel as poker players we sit way too much and it definitely helps me when I go to the more frequently for shorter periods than a couple of times a week for longer periods
- Enjoy time with my friends and family and do more interesting things such as hiking in remote places
- Spend a couple of hours per week working on a side business/project with family
Day one is tomorrow, day off today. Lets do this! gl all
