you know the more i think about it the more i agree with you. its just a weird spot where even tho your range maybe unbalanced there isn't really a whole lot they can do to exploit you as a result of that.

also are you fine stacking off with naked bottom 2pr on J67cc for 100bb? cuz betting to fold to a CR seems like we're burning equity but at same time getting it in vs a reasonable stack off range seems like burning $ which is why i so often check it back.

obv vs passive players none of this matters.

ok first of all i was just throwing out a random board. that probably wasn't the best example. but there are def tons of times where we have marginal hand that we want to see the turn and river with, has poor visibility (we feel like we have lots of outs but not sure which ones are live) we don't want to get in 100bb vs a reasonable stack off range etc.

the reason its not a problem HU is there is so much more meta information, so many hands go to showdown, there are so many more adjustments you can make etc and ranges are so much more fluid etc. villian can't just cap your range when you check back in pos in a HU match.

but in 6max i feel like when ppl check the flop in pos as the PFR they're automatically capping their range. we never have a monster ever. but when you check back a marginal hand with decent sd value you force yourself to really make some thin call downs since you know your perceived range is weak...dunno maybe i'm over thinking this situation as i really strive to be balanced in most spots and this is a spot that comes up a decent amount and i know that i'm nowhere near balanced and i'm clearly polarized on wet boards.

maybe this isn't an issue but was curious what ppl thought.

hey guys,

love the site. i've played primarily HU and i'm having some trouble with one specific spot in 6max. when i played HU i had no problem being uncapped when checking back the flop, however in my 6max games i'm really struggling to construct a balanced, uncapped checking range as the PFR in position. on dry boards its not an issue, but on wet boards i really can't figure out how to really be uncapped when i check. i mean i just can't find it in me to check top set on 67Jcc (esp as the players i most want to be balanced vs are the same ones i most want to build the pot up with big hands on wet boards). the hands i check are like 5567 or QQxxcc etc. hands i don't want to build a giant pot with, have too much equity to just bet fold but can't happily bet/jam the flop.

so when playing 100bb deep, how do you guys construct a balanced uncapped flop check range?

appreciate any input.
