Played a live tourney today and ran into a few sick spots. I was running over the table and had the image of a maniac, continuously robbing with little resistance.
Hand 1: We are currently in the money and a few away from the final table.
Stack: 430k
Blinds: 5k/10k/1k
Villain: Older guy, kind of passive, not super aggro or tight, doesn't have much poker knowledge
I open EP to 20k with AcQc, villain flats, short stack shoves from BB to 35k total. I call the 15k (Should I have raised?), and old guy shoves for around 200k more. I found stack preservation to be important here as I was having such an easy time with the table.
Hand 2: Final Table recently Begun, money jumps are beginning to become significant and there are 4 short stacks (5-15BB) at the table.
Stack 300k
Blinds: 6k/12k/2k
Villian: middle aged guy, haven't seen much of him, just a defend from the BB with q9cc. He covers me.
Shortstack shoves 29k utg I'm utg+1 and just call with AQo (should I have 3b/shoved?), 2 others call. Flop Q79r I bet into a dry side pot for 70k, villain makes it 150k, not sure if he's competent enough to know I'm never bluffing into a dry side pot. Thoughts?
Thanks for all the help guys! Really looking forward to being part of the RIO community!
