Bring on part 3! I'm curious about how important you think it is to be 3betting small pocket pairs with some frequency? Currently I'm playing on a site that doesn't allow HUD use and I never 3bet those hands mainly because I don't think the competition I'm playing (100nl) will be exploiting me for never having sets on a 652 board as the preflop 3better, and I also struggle to play those hands OOP. Is there any merit to this viewpoint? Or would you say that's a leak in my game? If it is a leak, do you have a rough estimate for what frequency you would want to 3bet those hands in a vacuum? (Sorry if that's too vague as I realize that will vary significantly based on positions.) Thanks for the consistently great content!

Hey Ben love the videos, I recently returned to playing poker and am trying to get through all of your (and Tyler Forrester's) 6 max NL content. I realize I'm commenting on a 4+ year old video but on the off chance you see this what hands would you be bluff raising on the top left table at 18:00 when you raise TT on 7d6h2d? Hands like 89dd and 58/45 (if you even have them I'm not sure just how crazy you go flatting 3bets) seem like the prime candidates but I've always tended to just call those hands because raise getting it in seems to narrow their range to hands that we're either flipping against or dominated by. Am I just being a nit? Is this a play that works better with a "Sauce" image? Would say A6dd or possible other Axdd be a better choice? Anyways thanks for all the awesome content, I know hearing back from you on this one might be a long shot but one out is all you need right?

PS If you have any favorite 6 max nl coaches on here you would recommend I would love to hear what the man himself thinks :)

Phil,
Great video as always. I was wondering if you could explain the reasoning behind running it twice?

I agree that the only Qx villain is value betting would probably be AQ, but I still think most players will sigh and click call even with AQ in this spot. We just don't have enough behind to run an effective bluff IMO. If I was going to bluff this spot I would much prefer a hand like JT. Turning a hand with so much show down value into a bluff at this SPR just seems silly to me. You mention how the ace provides good blocker effects, but if hes snapping you with All AK, KJ, and KT combos wouldn't a hand like JT be even more effective? I'm sorry but this just seemed like pure spew to me tbh, but what do I know I just play midstakes. ;)

In the final A5o hand I think it's a little ambitious to think villain is folding any better hands to our river bluff. Even if he is somehow value betting a strong Qx hand I think a lot of players will just click call, getting around 6:1 at this point. Seems to me like we have a clear call/fold with a relatively weak bluff catcher. I can understand having a bluffing range here, especially with the widened value range you described. Maybe you can explain a little more why you are choosing a medium strength paired hand to include in that range. It seems to me that all of his thin value bets are probably just going to snap call you getting such an insane price, regardless of how nutted you look, and we beat all his bluffs. I know its easy to say after we see the results, but I would always just fold this hand and opt to call most of my Qx especially ones with kickers that block his value range.

Hey thanks for the reply! From what Ive seen poker juice is the way to go for PLO learning software. If you had to choose one of these programs which would you suggest?

Hey thanks for the advice. Been using HM2 for a while now but sounds like PioSolver and flopzilla will be were to go next.

Hey guys I know I haven't posted much on this site, mostly because I don't feel like my technical understanding is up to par with most other posters here. So hopefully I can get some advice from some of the well respected members, even though I haven't contributed much myself. In the future when I feel like I have something to offer, I will do my best to pay it forward. I have been a winning NL, PLO, and PLO8 player for about 3-4 years now and I have an interest in learning all games. I have mostly been improving through RIO videos, reading material, discussing poker with players I respect, and of course putting in ungodly amounts of hours playing. I'm to the point now where I don't think I'll improve much more without the help of some kind of learning tool software. My question is just were to start, so I can do some serious off the table work. What program or programs would be best for someone who has never worked with these tools before. Thanks in advance for any help.

Post | Tilted247365 posted in Chatter: Computer monitor.

So I'm trying to get a monitor that will fit a bunch of tables on one monitor. I've been told it's all about the resolution. I've found a 40" monitor that has a resolution of 3840x1920 for around $800. I also found a 28" monitor with the same 3840x1920 resolution for $380. My question is will I be able to fit the same amount of tables on the 28" as the 40" or is it worth the extra $500 for the 40". Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

You said he likes to 3bet loose and wide. Surely 99 and 77 would be 3bets for him almost always pre. I would just 3bet the flop with the intention of stacking off. You're only 100bbs deep. With his high flop chk raise frequency you want to have a flop 3bet range against him that's balanced between bluffs and value hands. I think AA is a good hand for our value range in this spot. We rarely get it in crushed but our hand is very vulnerable and needs protection. We can possibly force him to fold a lot of equity taking this line if he just has a bare flush or straight draw.

I was curious about the flop play also with KK when you cold 4bet in the bb aswell. This is a spot where i would bet about 25% pot with my whole range. Do you think this is a valid strategy? I hate giving free cards here when the pot gets so large pre.

At :45 with AsTs on QQ8jsss you say we should always just be check calling turn. Is our hand strong enough to check raise and call off on turn or jam any non double board pair river 100bb deep? Does he have enough bare Qx, straights, and lower flushes to warrant this? I play mostly heads up and I would usually take that line. Or is that over playing our hand in 6 max games, where ranges are tighter?

Sept. 28, 2015 | 7:13 a.m.

At 14:00 with KdQc on Q38JJhhh I was wondering if you think Chao has a possible overbet bluffing hand on the river with TsTh? In an attempt to fold out any non straights, blocking T9 and flushes. Or is he simply too high up in his range to bluff?

Comment | Tilted247365 commented on $1/2 Bovada

I would usually be betting flop here w 10 outs to the pure nuts, and great multi way equity, but maybe that isn't as standard as I thought and someone can chime in here on that. But as played we have an easy call, raising river is suicidal imo. I know villain obv has a wide SB calling range, but he is just gonna have KK alot and raising river is def over playing our hand imo.

Is there anyway to create a playlist to watch multiple videos in a row?

April 16, 2015 | 10:57 a.m.

I appreciate the comment. My line of thinking was just that I block AQ and most people wont call a 3bet oop with off suit combos of KQ or QJ. Especially from these positions, where my range is going to be quite strong and dominate those hands. I thought his range was very pp heavy and even though I'm only beat by sets what else does he really have? I would play my hand the same again probably. I do however feel when we are called here we are often beat.
Thx, Tilted

Hey guys like the title says I'm playing on bovada, so completely read less. However I grind this player pool a ton. So I have a good feel for how the general player pool will play.

UTG $107.50
HJ(hero)$215
CO$100
BTN$100
SB $100
BB$100

Hero is in the HJ and is dealt AsAd. UTG raises to $3. HJ(hero) raises to $9. CO folds. BTN fold. SB folds. BB folds. UTG calls $6. Flop 5Q7r. UTG checks. HJ(hero) bets $10.75. UTG calls $10.75. Turn Ts UTG checks. HJ(hero) bets $18.50. UTG calls $18.50. River 9d. UTG checks. HJ(hero) bets $69.85 putting UTG all in. UTG calls $69.85. Final board 5Q7T9.

Villain ends up turning over QQ. At first I shrugged it off and figured it was a standard cooler. But after second thought realized I'm only getting value from a small range of hands and wanted to run it by you guys. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Gl at the tables unless you're in a pot with me :)

Thank you for the great video! I have learned so much from you and the other NLHE coaches here. Sorry you are running so poorly my friend. Its nice to see how a seasoned vet handles sessions like this. p.s i will never forget the QQ hand were nanonoko 5 bet bluff jammed Q6o and won it twice in one of your past videos lol. keep up the good work!!

There's no money to be made in O8. If your a solid player just stick to NL (;

Jan. 19, 2015 | 10:26 p.m.

Try to eliminate tilt and frustration completely from your game. Bad beats and coolers are part of the game, letting your emotions get involved will be detrimental to your success. Maybe try setting a time limit on your sessions and leave after x amount of hours whether up or down. Hope this helps.

Comment | Tilted247365 commented on call or fold?

I think raising the turn is pretty bad here. Villains turn lead is extremely polar. He has 4x or better, or a random bluff which you want to keep in his range. When he 3 bets the turn i think most villians have 64 exactly and i would want to fold then. As played the river is a fold for me. We are sometimes chopping but with the action as i said before i think most live players are just gonna have the pure nuts here. As usual :)

Not trying to question a top professional. However it seems to me the hand where we flop a set of Ks on K82cc , check back flop, bet call the A turn, and just call on the 5 river seems a little nitty to me. I mean we effectively have the second nuts, if he happened to slow play AA pre and we both flop sets than well that's just a cooler right? I really like how the hand was played but i felt like the river was an easy jam.
