I like betting the turn here against the 5plo field in general, as worse 7s & flushes will call a lot. Any reads or even stats on this guy? I played a fair amount of 5plo last year & found players mostly playing straight forward in spots where the board is this scary. There is always the chance he's capable of getting OOL though. I have a colour on stars for guys in that PLO pool who are pretty much always gonna show up with KK in spots like this. There's a ton of post flop nits out there, many of them play about half the hands they're dealt but still only raise the super nuts post flop. They are obviously pretty easy to play against & I wouldn't feel too bad about bet/folding this hand to those guys specifically, even with that c/r sizing.

Against some players in that field I think we should be calling this weird raise & seeing what they do on the river. Some guys will have a flush here & be small-raise/folding the turn or planning to check river if you call. I've also seen a few turn up with bare aces and all sorts of other crap in spots like this. There's definitely some playing 5plo who I'd never fold vs here. Got a colour for the weird ones too! Guess I'd like more info on the specific villain. I'd say most (normal) 5plo players are gonna have a boat of some kind here the vast majority of the time though.

Can't seem to get the hand to convert properly. Maybe this is easier to read?

Hello Run It Once

I'm fairly new to PLO and haven't played any poker seriously for about five years. I've messed about on stars here and there, playing mixed games and some tourneys for a bit, but never with any intention to devote real time to studying poker like I had previously. For a few months I've been trying to get back into grinding and studying and getting better at the game again, but NL feels really boring to me now. A couple of months ago I switched to playing PLO almost exclusively as pretty much a complete novice (I still play some mixed games at times) with a plan to grind up a roll through the micros like I did in NL before.

At this level, where I can be as exploitable as I like and very few villains will notice and exploit me, also it's usually only him and I who actually see the hand go down, can I ever fold here? Is this a ridiculous question? I've put in almost 60bbs so folding seems really gross. The guy thought for quite a while before calling the 4bet and he hadn't 3bet in 54 hands before this one. All of these are zoom hands so I haven't actually seen him play much. I played one pot before vs him, where I made a small value/block bet the river with KK on AKJ9A & he called quickly in position with AJT7ss. He didn't seem to even think about raising my small bet and it had gone chk/call then chk/chk on flop & turn in a single raised pot. He surely has a very strong range to squeeze here out of position and then to donk into my hand which looks like its always AAxx and like I'm never folding. I'm having difficulty putting him on a range where I have the 32% to call as I haven't seen guys like this play overpairs except AA very aggressively and they always seem to have that or trips when they're willing to stack off on paired boards. In spots like this it seems like I'm always way behind or calling for a chop. I think at even a little bit higher stakes I wouldn't be asking this question, but at 5PLO people seem to be just trying to make a nutty hand then shovel money in.

What about the 4bet pre with these stack sizes? Are my aces pretty enough to not worry too much about letting the btn in if I just call or should I be more willing to 4bet these awesome aces and just call with the weaker ones? I felt at the time the 4bet was the correct thing to do as I could probably get it heads up and make the pot big enough to get my stack in on any flop, but maybe I should be more concerned about those things with weaker aces? I've lost quite a few buy-ins with AA so far and feel like the 3betting/4betting part of the game is one of my biggest beginner leaks.
