PLO MTT flopped str8t facing bet on paired board

HJ: $3325
CO: $1763
BN: $2288
SB: $7571
BB: $3483 (Hero)
UTG: $5476
UTG1: $9329
LJ: $1416
Preflop ($150.00) (8 Players)
Hero was dealt A 9 6 5
UTG folds, UTG1 raises to $350, LJ folds, HJ folds, CO folds, BN folds, SB folds, Hero calls $250
I don't usually play run downs with big gaps near the top and I know this sounds goofy but I've been hitting so many flushes today that I want to play my suited A. If I don't hit I will just fold flop
Flop ($750.00) 4 8 7 (2 Players)
Hero bets $750, UTG1 calls $750
Eureka....flop fits my str8t draw perfectly with a redraw to the higher str8t and one of my suit cards
Turn ($2250.00) 8 (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG1 checks
This is not good
River ($2250.00) Q (2 Players)
Hero bets $1125, UTG1 raises to $2812, Hero calls $1258
Even though he checked the turn I can't say he doesn't have an 8 and perhaps the Q did fill him up but if he doesn't have it my str8t is still good so I think BF is better than CF or CC. I think this is where I played it badly. So I bet and when he raised there is so much money in the pot that I call in case there is any chance I am good. I think this is a bad move at least 70% of the time with an open pair on board. Fish fight?
Final Pot
Hero has A 9 6 5 UTG1 has 8 J T 9 Hero wins $7016
