Isolated Preflop Half Stack, Postflop Decisions

SB: SB: $127.70
BB: BB: $99
UTG: UTG: $88
HJ: MP: $55.94
CO: CO: $151.40
BN: Hero: $109.60
The villain is playing 63/20/5 over 50 hands...very loose passive style
Preflop ($2.00) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt 8 Q 9 T
UTG folds, MP calls $1, CO folds, Hero raises to $5, SB folds, BB folds, MP calls $4
Flop ($12.00) 9 8 6 (2 Players)
MP checks, Hero bets $8, MP raises to $36, Hero raises to $64, MP calls $14.94, and is all in
What are peoples thoughts about betting or checking the flop?

I wanted to value bet and protect my hand vs an assumed pretty wide limp-calling range, but once he check raises the stack sizes are quite awkward as he has another 15 behind, without the flush draw my hand feels pretty weak..but 33% odds with my hand is good enough to call IMO, however its not really 33% because the last 15$ is always going in on the river (15 into 99). Based on his style I think his check raising range will be very strong.

Do people think it could be beneficial to use smaller bet sizing vs this specific player type, like 5 or 6, as this increases the value of position, gives a better price when he folds and leaves more play on later streets if he does call or raise ? Or check and look for value on later streets subject to the board.
Turn ($134.94) Q (2 Players)
River ($134.94) K (2 Players)
Final Pot
MP has 4 5 J 7 Hero has 8 Q 9 T MP wins $110.88

As always, any feedback appreciated :)
