Always call getting 2:1 with a suited A

One of the pros mentioned this "rule of thumb" in his vid and it seems like a good way to make quick decisions in the heat of battle. Say you semi steal from the BN or CO with a hand containing a suited A but a hand that might not have been strong enough for an early raise. Let's say Axxx ss. One of the blinds pot 3 bets and we have to decide whether to call IP and getting 2:1. Snap call? I also remember Phil saying in one of his vids "It's hard to imagine what flop would come where i wouldn't have 35% equity". Can't remember what hand he held but I guess this would apply to most. If your hand is nutty in only one fairly limited way (discounting the A as a good high card) do you want to play a big pot or fold to a tight blind and absorb the loss into your failed steal attempt ratio. I guess this would apply to multiway pots too where we were getting good pot odds. Do we run the risk of getting sucked into multiple streets with a one way draw or hitting our A with bad kickers?

Or BN raises and we're in SB with an Axxx ss getting 2:1 on the call. Yes?

I wonder if the answer is 'it depends" and I have to run all of the information for each scenario or if I can make a correct in game decision based on this rule of thumb.
